1.(a)Rohit Sharma
The BCCI has nominated Rohit Sharma for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award 2020. Among other nominations, the BCCI nominated Shikhar Dhawan, Deepti Sharma and Ishant Sharma for Arjuna Awards. 

2.(b) 18 
The Election Commission of India on June 1 announced that the Rajya Sabha elections for pending 18 seats will now be held on June 19, 2020. The elections were earlier scheduled to be held on March 26 but were deferred due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

India is set to be re-elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council during the elections in June 2020. India’s candidature for the Asia Pacific seat in the non-permanent category was unanimously endorsed by the 55-member Asia Pacific grouping including Pakistan and China in 2019 for a two-year period, 2021-2022.

4.(a) St. Vincent and the Grenadines 
Five nations including Vietnam, Niger, Estonia, Tunisia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines were elected to the UNSC earlier this month for a two-year term beginning January 2020. St. Vincent and the Grenadines is the smallest-ever nation to secure a UNSC seat.

The theme of World Environment Day 2020 is ‘Biodiversity’.The World Environment Day 2020 theme is extremely important, especially with the recent events of major bushfires in Australia, Brazil and the United States.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged USD 15 million to the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI). He made the announcement during the Global Vaccine Summit hosted by the United Kingdom (UK) on June 4, 2020.

7.(b) Delhi 
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has launched 'Delhi Corona' mobile application to help track hospital beds and ventilators for COVID-19 patients. The app is available for download on Google Play. 

8.(d) Durga
Legendary Filmmaker Basu Chatterjee passed away on June 4, 2020 due to age-related health issues. He was 93. He had won the National Film Award for Best Film on Family Welfare for his film Durga. Besides this, he had won the IIFA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. He has also won several Filmfare awards. 

9.(a)Nitin Gadkari
The Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on June 5, 2020 launched a national awareness campaign on Prevention of Human and Animal Mortality on Highways. While launching the campaign through Video Conference, the Union Minister underlined the need for generating awareness and education for the masses at large towards reducing or eliminating mortality on the roads. 

10. (a)US
The United States has officially terminated its relationship with the World Health Organisation. The US President in a live speech accused China of having total control over WHO despite paying only USD40 million a year compared to what the US’s 450 million a year.
